What we build where the lawn was

Four jobs, usually done together on one estimate.

Turf removal and grading

The grass, roots and top layer come out, the ground is leveled and sloped away from the house, and the old material is hauled off.

  • Measured at the walk-through

  • Haul-off included in the estimate

Drip irrigation

Spray heads come out and drip lines go in, zone by zone, on your existing valves where they're sound.

  • Zones tested before we leave

  • A controller schedule that you can read

Planting

A plant list with sizes, set out on the ground before anything goes in the soil, and spaced for how big each plant gets.

  • Agave, cactus, yucca, ocotillo and shrubs

  • Shade trees where the house needs them

About planting
Flat stepping stones lead up a dirt path between rocks and dry grass

Gravel, boulders and paths

Gravel laid over fabric to a set depth, boulders set into the ground rather than on top, and stepping stones where people walk.

  • Steel or stone edging

  • Paths wide enough for a wheelbarrow

How a job goes

Walk-through to final check

  1. 01

    Step 1: Walk-through

We measure, look at the slope and the sprinkler valves, and listen to what you want to keep.

  2. 02

Step 2: Plan and written estimate

A plan on paper and a price in writing, with what's included and what isn't.

  3. 03

Step 3: Rebate step, if you're applying

You apply to your water provider. We start when you're cleared.

  4. 04

Step 4: Grass out, then the build

Removal and grading first, then irrigation, gravel, boulders and plants.

  5. 05

    Step 5: Final check

We walk the yard with you, run every zone and leave a watering schedule.
